SkyDrop is a secure and private file-sharing solution inspired by the user experience of Apple’s AirDrop and similar applications like WeTransfer. It offers a Free and Open Source (FOSS) alternative for sharing text and uncompressed files using QR codes between mobile devices.

We are currently updating the FAQs in light of the closure of the Skynet Labs portals. The default portal in the app is now https://web3portal.com/. We advise users to review their privacy policy before registering. To enhance file security, we recommend utilizing the new end-to-end encryption feature, ensuring that your files remain accessible only to their intended recipient.

SkyDrop is freeware; your files are stored on your designated Skynet portal. While files are typically pinned for 30 days, for long-term storage options, users are advised to inquire about extended plans with their portal provider.

This project operates under the MIT license and is an open-source initiative. SkyDrop was developed using .NET’s native cross-platform app framework Xamarin along with the MvvmCross framework.
